ABOUT PAINTBALL AND M&B PAINTBALL
ABOUT PAINTBALL
Many people have never heard of paintball so they don't know what it is. Paintball is a game or a sport where players are armed with paintball guns, split up onto different teams and they work together by shooting the players on the other team to win the game. Games are not only won by eliminating other players, many scenarios can be played including flag games. Paintball is generally played in the bush here in Northern Ontario, or in indoor paintball fields in larger cities. Paintball should never be played anywhere else other then a reputable paintball field where there are refs and organized games.

HISTORY OF PAINTBALL
Paintball was created from someone who thought it would be funny to shoot his friend with a paint marking gun while marking trees to cut. In May 1981 Bob Gurnsey, Hayes Noel and Charles Gaines officially created the game of paintball in Henniker, New Hampshire. The first game was on June 27 the same year with 12 players using Nel-spot 007s pump pistols. Paintball was introduced to Toronto, Ontario in 1983 and by 1996 paintball was worldwide with the NPPL (National Paintball Players Association) fully established and indoor and outdoor fields opening rapidly around the world. Since then paintball has continued to evolve, the games, style, tournaments and fields have become more elaborate, the equipment (pump to electronic) has changed drastically and paintball is now starting to be seen as a common sport because more and more people are familiar with it.

ABOUT M&B PAINTBALL
M&B Paintball is a reputable outdoor paintball field where people can play and improve their paintball skills. We're in business so that we can share the sport of paintball with everyone in North Bay and the surrounding area. We work hard to constantly maintain the fields and when we have extra money, we put it back into the field for improvements and field construction. We will continue to grow as we have in the past for the better, relying on the experience of running a reputable quality paintball field for the past 12 years. Please listen to and respect the refs on the field, they are there to organize games and maintain safety and order.

HISTORY OF M&B PAINTBALL
Bill Armstrong first learned about paintball when his friend introduced him to the sport in 1995. He was frustrated because there was no actual paintball field or retail store in North Bay, no place to rent or buy good quality paintball guns, few places to fill C02 and only low grade paintballs to purchase. Bill’s love for the game prompted the creation and construction of M&B Paintball in 1998 beginning with two fields in the bush and a small retail store. Since then M&B Paintball has grown, we now have regular members, 4 outdoor fields, netted areas, shelters, non muddy walkways, target range, compressed air fill system and ongoing improvements. M&B Paintball is known in the area as a great place to have fun and play the sport of Paintball at a reputable paintball field, and buy quality equipment from the retail store.

ABOUT SAFETY
Safety is the biggest concern for us when dealing with groups of excited people with paintball guns. Paintball is one of the safest sports in the world with injuries statisticly less then bowling or fishing. We're not saying your not going to hurt yourself when you loose your footing, but the risk of serious injuries resulting a in a paintball hitting you are virtually non-existent if you wear a mask. Pay attention to the refs when they are explaining your equipment and rules of paintball, these rules are not to restrict your fun, but to ensure M&B Paintball never has a serious paintball injury.

ABOUT REFS
Refs are very important to the smooth operation of our paintball field, without them, the entire place would be utter chaos. The Refs job is to organize games and makes sure everyone plays safe, reacting quickly and loudly to stop the game or protect players if something becomes unsafe at any time. Please listen to and respect the refs. The owner, Bill Armstrong, the field manager, Kristin Armstrong, and Kevin Fernity are the head refs in any situation at the paintball field. At other times we may have another ref working or certain trusted members running games in Wild Bill's Casino Field. At M&B Paintball all refs reserve the right to ask you to leave if you are jeopardizing yourself or others safety.
